LaToya Peoples is a Philadelphia native, Baltimore based multi-hyphenate creative, public artist, educator, curator and entrepreneur. Peoples’ artistic practice includes painting, mural & public art installation, printmaking and design. She earned her BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in 2009, prior to an 8 year career in visual arts education. Much of Peoples’ work focuses on symbolism and narrative through juxtaposing figuration, organic forms, vibrant color and cultural pattern. Peoples creates transformative works informed and guided by historical inquiry, community engagement and exploration of identity.
